Environment

Our global environment is a fragile balance and humankind should be dedicating itself to the preservation of the natural world.  Instead there is evidence of careless disregard for the creatures of our planet as well as the essential elements that support life, now and in the future.

My current series of pastel drawings has as its focus several isolated problems that are a result of this reckless indifference to the world around us.  The human hand is represented in various places within the drawings as a way to identify the unwitting or malicious culprit behind each problem.  Some environmental issues have attainable solutions, some may not at this time.  We owe it to ourselves and the future generations of this planet to become aware of how to assist with these solutions and not contribute to the problems by actions motivated by ignorance or greed.
